Chris Mannigan, alto saxophone: began
playing the saxophone and composing at age ten. He received degrees in composition and performance from Syracuse
University, where he studied with Ronald Caravan and Joe Riposo. Among his recorded works are The Daemon Lover for
saxophone quartet, Bullet in the Brain on a text by Tobias Wolff, and various works for the improvisational collective
Trio 6 with Matthew Nidek and Ed Owens. Since moving to New York in 1998 he has performed with Carter Thornton,
Mark Dresser, Sean Meehan, Stephanie Griffin, Matt Heyner, Tom Rainey, Oscar Noriega.
